Like the flavors of saltimbocca? (Traditional Italian meal made with chicken or veal wrapped in sage and prosciutto) You will love this dip!
8oz cream cheese, softened to room temp
1/4 lb prosciutto di Parma, chopped
12 leaves fresh sage, piled on top of each other and then cut into slivers
1/2 small onion
Splash or two of half and half or heavy cream
a few pinches of black pepper
6 drops Worcestershire sauce
Place cream cheese in a bowl. Add the prosciutto and sage. Grate the onion over the bowl with a handheld grater.
Add cream, pepper and Worcestershire sauce and mix well, beating with a wooden spoon until blended.
Chill until ready to serve. Surround with crackers or crostini (toasted baguette slices). I highly recommend the baguette. Slice and arrange on a pan- brush each slice with a little bit of olive oil and toast in oven until just golden. That is what is pictured here. Yum!
